Broccoli Tofu Stir Fry – easy recipe

This post may contain affliate links. read disclosure here

Vegetarian food became the hype during my college years.  There was a push for “healthier” non-meat items mainly from tofu/bean curd products shaped to resemble meat.  I didn’t mind eating vegetarian products since I find the distinct taste of soy beans pleasant.  However, I will always prefer the blocks of plain tofu that one can slice or dice for savory meals.

The texture of Super Firm Tofu is porous and will absorb the color and flavor of liquid seasonings. Soy sauce is used in this Broccoli Tofu Stir Fry to lightly flavor the Tofu.

You can find a guide for different Tofu varieties here

Broccoli Tofu Stir Fry Easy Recipe

Tofu is a versatile ingredient in Asian cuisine.  My first bite of tofu is from a sweet dish from the Philippines called Taho.  Soft-silky soy bean curd is ladled into cups, followed by little balls of chewy tapioca.  The concoction is flavored by drizzling the tofu curds with shiny ribbons of dark caramel sauce.  You can find a simple Taho recipe here

Tips for cooking Tofu Broccoli Stir Fry:

  • Purchase Extra Firm or Super Firm Tofu for this recipe
  • Nasoya Organic Super Firm Tofu is my recommended brand
  • Cook Tofu separately from vegetables to prevent tofu from being smooshed
  • Adjust soy sauce according to taste
