Shopping on a budget at ALDI’s

This post may contain affliate links. read disclosure here

*I received promotional consideration for this post, opinions about ALDI are my own.

Here is a recap of my ALDI experience:

My favorite food items:

Millville Crunchy Granola Raisin Bran
Burman’s Mayonnaise
liveGfree Gluten-Free Multi Seed Crackers
Specially Selected Cheese:
– Smoked Gouda
– Brie
– Goat Cheese
– Fresco Cheese

rasinbran                  Milville Crunchy Granola Raisin Bran

porkguisantes5 (1 of 3)Specialty Select Cheese (Smoked Gouda and Brie)
 and liveGfree Multi Seed Crackers

I can’t get enough of liveGfree Multi Seed Crackers, it is flavorful without being too salty and it’s a perfect match for dips and cheese. The various Specially Selected Cheese products is my “must go to” section when I’m shopping at ALDI, the price is unbeatable for the quality of the product. Millville Crunchy Granola Raisin Bran is delicious. Burman’s Mayonnaise tastes better than the leading brand we buy.

Recipes using ALDI products:

kanakanimacsaladMacaroni Kanikama Salad: An easy simple take on seafood salad that won’t break the bank. Kanikama is Japanese for imitation crab meat usually used for California Rolls at Sushi restaurants. The macaroni salad is simple and easy to make and is a crowd pleaser for parties and potlucks. I did a taste test comparing Burman’sMayo from ALDI with a leading brand and Burman’s mayonnaise was more flavorful.  (Recipe: Here)

porkguisantes5Pork Guisantes or Pork with Green Peas in Tomato Sauce: A budget friendly Filipino dish that is eaten with a side of rice. My favorite comfort food! The recipe found here is good for 2-4 people when eaten with rice or a side of potatoes, etc.

My thoughts on ALDI:

I didn’t know what to expect when I decided to partner with ALDI. I’d never heard of the company before nor had I shopped in any of their stores. In today’s world where skeptical consumers ask “what’s the catch?“, I found no smoke screens as an ALDI customer. The company’s efficiency in offering high quality products at a low price is simple: eliminating overhead costs such as their shopping cart system, open carton displays, bring your own
shopping bags, and opting not to pay credit processing fees.

With the smart practices at ALDI, shoppers can avail themselves of incredibly low prices. It is all very impressive and I’ve been a fan since they opened their first stores here in Richmond, VA.
